Financial literacy and teacher professionalisation
The project
FiLi
In the FiLi research and transfer project, the question of how financial education can be effectively established in general education schools is analysed in an interdisciplinary manner on the basis of current research findings with a focus on teacher qualification. A meta-analytical research review of the (inter-)national empirical literature on the influence of financial education (FE) on financial literacy (FL) will be compiled by means of a systematic review. The focus is on analysing inhibiting and promoting factors on the effectiveness of financial education. The findings and results of the meta-analysis to date will be made available on a publicly accessible platform. At the same time, relevant results will be systematically incorporated into the research process through interdisciplinary discourse and evaluated with a view to teacher professionalisation. The meta-analytical results will be incorporated into the design of innovative, didactically sound qualification modules for teachers at secondary levels I and II. These are developed and trialled co-constructively with educational partners, based on the OECD competency framework. The transfer takes place via qualified teachers in various phases of training and enables early, competent economic participation. FiLi thus makes an essential contribution to the evidence-based, sustainable institutionalisation of financial education.
