Evidence-based research for a didactic seminar concept for financial education
The project
EFORBIS
Das Verbundprojekt EFORBIS der Hochschulstandorte EUF Flensburg/PH Schwäbisch Gmünd zielt darauf ab, Studienanfänger*iThe EFORBIS joint project between the EUF Flensburg/PH Schwäbisch Gmünd university locations aims to provide financial education for first-year teachers and to qualify them for the subsequent practical implementation of financial education in schools by means of dual teaching practice. The aim is to generate research findings to strengthen evidence-based financial education. In an initial phase, first-year teacher trainees will be sensitised to the challenges of financial decisions based on their individual life situations. A large proportion of this group are women, who can be categorised as vulnerable in terms of financial education. This group is given special attention in the project. In a second phase, the project aims to qualify future teachers to teach financial education in schools by giving them experience in making financial decisions independently through project work. The OECD/INFE competence model is supplemented here by borrowing from the Entrepreneurship Competence Framework. EFORBIS uses the design-based research methodology for the continuous evaluation-based further development of the seminar concept. The seminar concept will be transferred to other university locations.
